I went out early this morning to fill feeders. A very loud
Black-chinned Hummingbird made me look up, and to my surprise, I saw a
Eastern Screech-owl. First time to ever see an owl in my yard! I got my
camera and binoculars and came back out. When I scanned the area, I
also found 3 fledglings sitting very close! I also think I saw a 2nd
adult, but can't be a 100% sure it wasn't the first one. The 2nd one
seemed to be a bit more brownish, but I lost sight of it before I got a
good look. Also had my resident pair of Summer Tanagers bouncing all
around me. The Scott's Oriole has been seen in my yard now for several
days repeatedly coming to my feeder.
