Hi all: I have posted to the Smith Point hawk-count blog (http://smithpointhawkwatch.wordpress.com/) about the past two hot and virtually-migrant-raptor-less days. ovFor those visiting in the near future, the pond on the N side of the town of Smith Point (on the W side of the road) has been productive and provides excellent views of birds. There have been largish numbers of Stilt Sandpipers and there is a family (plus extra adults) of Black-bellied Whistling-Ducks that provide a great opportunity for ogling the fairly-Fulvous-like youngsters (see eBird checklists http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S14912998 and http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S14919794).
