Good morning Texbirders,
What an amazingly warm and clear day for December 24th! We had a short bird
walk this morning with some neat sightings, including two alligators! The
Cedar Waxwings have taken over the picnic area, moving between trees. The
Least Grebe is still being seen at Pond 3S. The trees and bushes along the
Pond Loop trail were busy with kinglets, gnatcatchers, cardinals, and more.
The great sighting for the morning was a Hooded Merganser in the north ponds.
Our last bird walk for the year will be Saturday, December 31st at 8:15am. Our
first walk for the year will be Sunday, January 1st, 2017 at 8:00am-kick off
your year list with a trip to Sheldon Lake State Park! Happy Holidays!
