Apparently to get the TBX off the ground (finally, after only a year), it was decided that we had to have an org to back it. So it was decided (not by me) that it would be a org dedicated to the TBX entirely. So there is now in the works a Textbook Exchange org on campus. We need to have 4 people to serve as officers (pres, VP, treasurer, secretary) and at least 6 more students to come to regular monthly meetings (probably 15 minutes a meeting, sometime during the day, so it should be easy to handle). I will be serving as the "advisor", as apparently full time staff are just as eligable as faculty to do this sort of thing. Anyway, if you are interested in furthering the cause of the TBX, then either sign up using the form on the door to my office or e-mail John Davies (blunt@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx), who will probably be the president. Once we have our first meeting and ratify all the officers, we can finally begin advertising the existance of the TBX to the student body. We also get some $1100 to spend, for what I don't know. Perhaps a new office machine for me. =) Further details about the org will eventually be available from the TBX web site: http://books.indstate.edu I would also be curious to know who would be interested in starting up a Linux users group. Particularly who would be willing to be officers in such a group. - Steve
