If this is a B-Mechanism unit, the hook that holds the basket down may have
damaged the traces in the LS Chassis flex pcb. This damage occurs right where
the take up reel sensor traces are. You can usually see the damage with a
powerful magnifying glass. If this is what happened, reading out the
emergency codes will tell you that there is a loss of take up reel FG.
Smallest part is the complete LS Chassis, about $85 dealer cost from
distributors, or $60 from MCM.
You will get the same symptom from loss of drum or capstan FG pulses. Reading
out the emergency codes will give you the answer.
