Well in that case, you are probably right about the flyback being bad. Is
the screen voltage very high? You should be able to adjust it down to about
200 volts or so, if not, then it's likely the fly is bad.

jerry , thanks for the reply, i din't notice any big
change in voltage with the crt socket off. i varied the
screen voltage. i was hoping it was the fly, people will
go for a fly.i thought there would be leafage in the
fly.any ideas? thanks
