[TechAssist] playstation 2 question

my friend bought a playstation 2 unit for Christmas and thought it had an ir
receiver for the remote. It turned out that it didnt. hH bought a compatible
remote to play dvds in the playstation. Can you install a ir receiver in
somehow?
