This unit came in dead with the zener blown in the 27v line in smps.
i replaced with a 27v , worked one day blew again.
Figured it may be too close to actual voltage, tried a 30v zener.
This time worked 2 hours, shorted again.
this line feeds the b+ to the vertical output ic,which is good.
cant seem to find any other bad components.
is this a smps runaway situation?meaning secondaries are going too high?
they seem to measure ok with no drift, why is this zener shorting?
any ideas?
any help is much appreciated,
gary
