[TechAssist] panasonic camcorder PV-IQ405D

I have a panasonic camcorder model PV-IQ405D. unit
came in with guidepost trouble(common) however when
all mechanical repairs were made i found when guide
posts get about half way around drum you can hear the
drum cylinder motor statring to race and the posts
return to the start position and the power button
flashes. anyone out there seen this?
