I use my TV high voltage probe on microwaves and have never had a
problem. This is an all in one probe with an analog meter on the probe,
not the type that is used in conjunction with a multimeter. I connect
the negative lead to the capacitor and the probe end to the metal oven
case and it measures a couple thousand volts if all is working.
