Ed If you remove the 2 wires off of the input side of the power transformer
and set up for cooking , you will measure AC going into the transformer,
therefore control assembly and switches are ok. Troubleshoot the secondary
side of the system. using a amp meter,if everything is hooked up and working
you will draw anywhere from 10 to 15 amps depending on size of MW. If when
you push the start button and you get a load vibrational noise as if unit
might be cooking but no heat seems to be produced then suspect that the
stacking diode is shorted. If you read an intact filament , no fuses popped
but have no heat then suspect that the magnetron has a shorted filament
winding. filament windings in a magnetron look to be about a 14 gauge wire,
twisted in a helix and if the wire shorts just inside the body of the
magnetron it will not heat the unit up. I'd be careful trying to measure
voltage of the magnetron, it will eat your meter quicker than you blink and
it oscillates at a slightly high frequency ( like 28 meghtz) hope this
helps.Peter Kowalik pe.kow@xxxxxxxxxxxx Keiths Stereo Burl Ont.

Cant seem to find a reason for this thing not to heat, unless the mag is
bad, i can measure continuity across the mag term, its not open, or
shorted.wiring seems to be ok, door switches are working, the hv cap checks
ok, so does the diode, hope someone has a idea. How much voltage should
there be at the magnatron filiment terminals? The hv xformer isnt shorted,
and the windings are not open
