Thanks for reply Jerry. I replaced this blue IC a year ago. Now it is bad 
again. Nothing was moved for convergence and it still looks good. The 
original lasted 6 yrs. I'm lost. It might be right. I think I'll try to 
replace the -5V regulator and the resistor feeding it ( grasping for 
straws ). I will send it back and see how long it lasts.
