Reply=A0to: techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Set uses 9-181 and 9-186 boards. Start up is on the 181, no seperate start up board. Had blown 4 amp fuse and shorted horiz. out transistor. Upon removing HOT I felt that the screws were not tight at all, so hoped that was cause of failure. Maybe, but set still has problems. It looked like the infamous C2212, on the later chassis, and in fact C2736 was bad and has been replaced. As well as I can tell, that is the equivilent of C2212 in this set. Also bad, and replaced was C2149 in the pump up. Also R2140 and 2141 were replaced because they were noticably burned. However, they checked OK, out of circuit. This did get rid of the retrace lines at the top of the screen, but I still have that "bad c2212" look. And there is hum. But, the main filter cap, C3249 A&B, check OK. Does anyone have any more ideas? Obviously, I can't get a lot out of this antique, but being back on my own means I need to fix anything I can.
