You can change how the crt filaments gets its voltage by doing a wire wrap
of the IHVT and cutting the old leads.
it does work and should also explain to customer you saved the crt.

Chaz,

I had an 8th grade English teacher with a sign on the chalkboard which
read: "Fail now.  Avoid the June rush."  I will adapt that to say to you:
 Bail now.  Avoid losing your shirt.

There is every indication that the crt has been giving problems for some
time ("The video would go out (white screen) and after powering off to
cool down, the video would appear again.")  The customer MAY have been
hit by lightning, but a better chance the crt took out the p/s.  At any
rate, if you fix the chassis, it will come back to bite you.
