Press and hold the prog button till the led comes on, press the mode button, i.e., cable, vcr, aux or tv, then press 000 and enter. Next, with the unit turned on point the remote at the unit and press the remote power button about one time per second till the unit turns off, then press enter. This works for me and I don't have to keep track of the instruction sheets.
