I would suspect the flyback but...

After Replacing The Sweep Board 9-1978 With A New Board I Had The Above
Symptom. I Found Out That When I Removed The Hv Wire To The Hv Splitter The
Little Spring Inside Fell Out And Now Did Not Hold The Hv Wire Tight Inside.
Luckily I Found The Spring And Reinserted It.

Return. On The Last One It Loaded Down The Ps And I Lost The + & - Voltage
For The Convergence Amps Which Comes From The Ps. Parallel A 12k Resistor
Across Rx3209 Which Solved Problem. Apparently Aftermarkets Have A

This set came in dead.On the smps (9-1978)module,I replaced the flyback
(generic),the hot,CRX3412 (NTE580).Now set has a real nice pix for about
an hour and than after warm up,the pix starts to pulsate or like
blooming but just a few seconds and then goes back to normal. It does
this about every 2 to 3 min.If you change channel, its ok for a few sec
and then starts pulsing,shaking,blooming,hard to discribe.Like a
regulation problem.I really think I got a bad generic flyback because I
have had 3 bad ones before.
This one came from a good source but its still a generic. Before I order
another one,has anyone here come across this problem before?Maybe a bad
lytic! The flyback is a 95-4134-19 I would apreciate any tips or
idea's.Thanks.

PS What are the most common failure parts on this bd.Maybe I still have
another bad one besides the 3 that I replaced.
