Thanks Bob, but all this crap has been tested before I got with you guys,
plus both boards have been sent in, that's what makes this repair
weird....the fact that 99% of "No convergence adjustment" repairs have
already been checked/done....it's that 1% that I'm looking for....I really
was expecting the 9-1674 or the 9-1690 to fix it, but it didn't.
So the data lines are suspect, even tho' it shows data on pins 2 and 4 of
plug 8C3
(or 3C8 on the other end) as good. That pin 1 bothers me, a little since
there's 5V with a little negative-going pulse on it, looks like another data
line or maybe a read/write line to me....I access both the customer
alignment and the servicer's alignment and that line does not go LOW, and
obviously I'M ASSUMING 8C3 does not provide the grounding path to 9-1653
module (data lines terminate at this module and don't seem to go anywhere
else, so that is most likely the faulty part).
I need a good scope reading on 8C3 to verify proper voltages and
action/operation of those 4 wires......Does pin 1 stay at 5 VOLTS?? Does Pin
1 go hi/low when the service menu is activated?? Is there a slight
negative-going pulse on it??
