Ernie,
Take the mirror to a glass place and have them install an acrylic mirror
in the frame.
Should be around $50.00 and look lots better.

Hi gang:
Had an interesting problem with this set.
Set came in dead - replaced 9-1978-01R module and restored operation.
but had a convergence problem on right side of raster.
convergence on right, especially red horiz.lines are curved downward on
lower
part of screen and upward on top half, blue & green are affected as well.
Replaced both convergence IC's (STK392-110) - NO HELP.
No convergence adjustments would affect only the right horiz. lines.
Checked components on convergence board, but found no problems.
A few days later I checked the mirror and found the problem.
This set uses a mylar mirror stretched over a, (I presume plastic) frame.
The mylar film had an area about 6 inches in diameter that was deformed
caused by the frame which was bulged and raised and distorted the mirror
How this happened is a mystery to me - no excessive heat nearby.
Now I have to convince the customer that he had this problem before
and live with it or replace the mirror for another $200.00.
