        The reason that I ask was that the scan lines seemed  more pronounced 
than they aught to. The set came in with the burned tuning caps in the HV 
section. After I got the set on and was watching it for a while the scan lines 
appeared more noticeable. I know that this is normal with bigger sets. The 
picture wasn't stretched. I was going to try adjusting but couldn't get into 
the menu. I delivered it today,so it doesn't matter now. The customer is happy. 
That's the bottom line I guess.

The end result is that the picture appears sharper, but not too much. It's
used on large Direct View TVs to overcome the "largeness" of the TV.....NTSC
signals weren't really designed for TVs over 25 inches...that's why HDTV was
designed for PTVs.
Engineers always seem to come up with probable solutions to impossible
problems.
