Yamaha Stereo Model RX-V595
This unit came in dead after lightning storm. I found the power supplies
were OK but the Micro(IC800) wasn't doing much. Replaced the micro and I
could turn on the power and the normal display came up but it shut off after
two seconds.
I fluxed all the micro leads and reflowed the solder, cleaned it up with
flux off and checked with magnifying lens that all the pins are clean with
no shorts or loose pins.
I then held down the input mode & FM/AM buttons while pressing the standby
button and my diagnostic display says " 1 DVD/LD DC = 0% " then it shuts
right down again.
The protection pins 23,24 & 25 are very close to what the schematic says
they should be. None of the protection transistors in my amplifier circuits
are triggered. I checked all 100 pins of the micro for proper voltages and
waveforms. My power supply comes up to normal voltages. I am becoming
suspicious of the new microprocessor as being defection. Any body have any
other ideas that I might be over looking?
 TIA,
Dale
