We have Time-Warner cable around here. Their cable converter box for the
digital tier is made by Pioneer.
It has a problem with audio dropout. Easy check, is to try a different
source, and see if audio returns.
Too basic? yep! But, I almost swapped a chassis, to fix this intermittent
problem.
