Phil,
Even if this isn't your fix...you may want to check.
From Tech Repair CD:
Toshiba\57H83\Blowing HOT's\\\\NO SILICONE around half of the anode cap on the 
Red CRT! Replaced all anode
wires and applied new silicone to all Crt'S\\\\\\\\

Toshiba site shows only a suppliment, no manual, unless it's covered
under another model, but cannot find it. House power browned out several
timer during the hurricane and dead, except the red front LED.
Also there is reference to "lines of chassis, like the "G" line, H, or X
line.
What line is this set? (model  42H83, chassis  TAC0359 )
