Had some units in the past that had bad disc caps (.01) on data lines near
cpu (older Tosh) I believe that the caps were to block a lot of transients
from hitting the ic and they would breakdown with either heat or humidity.
Something to check, use to change 4 or 5 at a time on some of these sets,
easy repair and if not cause of fault ,not a great expenditure and something
that eliminates a possible cause of problem peter Kowalik

Sounds like a bad connection on a voltage regulator. I had one that
acted like it was a bad uP, but turned out to be just bad connections
that I missed because of the plastic housing around the circuit board.

(set is a 32" but looks much bigger due to the forward facing side
speakers)
This set came in about the time I was leaving the shop
today.
The complaint given is that any remote control will cease to operate the
tv
after about 30 min of operation, apparently front panel functions remain
unaffected (didn't get a chance to verify yet). Does this discription
jog
any memorys on where to start, otherwise it is probabbly the solder
shotgun
approch, change the high failure caps, etc......
