I can't understand why someone, wiser then us guys, can not see the
shifting trend of All electronics being manufactured by the Asians. I
wonder how much of our defense equipment, including missile tracking,
satellite technology, CRT and LCD displays in our tanks and fighting
vehicles, Night Vision technology, etc, depends on parts from China,
Korea and other Asian countries. How will we get news updates from CNN,
if we can't get parts for our
NEC's...Goldstars...Sanyo's...Daewoos...Orions...and now RCA and GE
TV's. How much of our Electrical grid depends on monitoring systems made
in China and the likes. If we continue to depend on technology from
outside North America, we better not "pixx" these countries off. Or we
will find many things on Backorder in the future.

Seems to me that Goldstar was the CRT supplier when
Zenith was having such a bad time of it with the
"soft short" taking out all the main boards, and
the sets being "Not worth fixing".
That was pretty much all the '90's.
I never could figure out why Zenith didn't find
another CRT supplier.
I guess that was a way to tear zenith down so
Goldstar could buy them.
