What does the eye pattern look like on a scope? If it expands & contracts
horizontally you have a bad spindle motor.

pickup for a new replacement one. It seems to be a newer digital style with
no apparent adjustments on the board so I cannot set up the tracking error
or any other adjustment. The only thing left that I can see would be to
replace the cables from the pickup to the board. I have replaced the flat
ribbon type cable on other machines and had success but this one has two
separate cables with individual wires. Has anyone had the same trouble with
this type of cabling?TIA
