Thanks to everyone for the help on this, especially Don Hartigan for the
print and detailed help and Neil Leipziger for the final solution:
Problem turned out to be in shut down, basically resetting the micro
restored operation.
This is done by holding the "tuner" button in for about 30 seconds , let go
and power restored.
For those of you recording tips, that care about this old CTC136:
Problem was volume full force at power on, then intermittent.
Fix was broken solder in MTT002, top corner near connector plugs.
