[TechAssist] Sony SL-HF900 hi end beta Help please

Hi all,
Unit takes tape loads tape around drum, but wont play tape. Will ff. and
rewind fine. When in play can hear take-up motor but nothing happens with
capstan motor or drum motor. Checking plugs on these I find no voltage
changing state when play is hit. Stk on rear panel is OK. This is one of
those super beta units that's supposed to be better than super VHS. Anyone
