Looking at the circuit diagram of a Funai DVD player, there are three light emitting devices in the same enclosure, a DVD laser, a CD laser, and a LED. There is a current adjust pot for the DVD laser, and a current adjust pot for the CD laser. I think the LED is there for disc presence detection, but it has no adjustment pot. Looking closely at the adjustment pots, one is marked CD and the other is marked DVD on the circuit board.
