I always replace the lamp and ballast the first go around, also educate the customer on the proper use of the et. 1. make sure there is a lot room around the unit for proper ventilation 2. make sure the unit is not on a switched outlet 3. better to leave the unit on between shows if only 30 min to 2 hours a part, the cooling and heating of the lamp decrease the lamp life., 4. don't move the tv after you turn it off because the lamp is very fragile, give it a couple hours to cool 5. Also put the unit on a U.P.S battery backup. So if you lose power the lampstill have time to cool. then turn off set. >From: "tvservice" <tvservice@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> >Reply-To: techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >To: <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> >Subject: [TechAssist] Sony LCD proj KF50XBR800 picture intermittent on/off >Date: Fri, 24 Jun 2005 15:42:04 -0500 > >Hi group, >am servicing this proj tv it will come on normal for about 1 minute then picture and sound go off, lamp goes out. >Just as it goes out the "standby led" starts blinking, at 30 blinks you heara click (relay) and at 4 more blinks picture and sound are back.
