Thanks Jeff, but those don't seem to be exactly It. The power module is a
DM-6 or sony #1-235-015-00. that seems to be NLA (at least acording to
partsolver, tritronics and sony, andrews isn't open on the weekend so...),
which I would assume the FBT to be also. This customer was told by another
shop it was a hopeless lost cause, but they insisted on getting a second
opinion, said the last few times it failed was a diode, the only work I've
seem done on it appears to be in the PIN circuit. Why I suspect IC651 is
that it worked after pulling and reinstalling, did touch up a few
connections elseware but nothing appeared to be the type that would cause
the shutdown, and the IC module has some discoloration and the epoxy dip is
cracked and starting to seprate.

Sony
KX-2501
SCC-383A-A (HF chassis)
Cir early 80's

This is a sony 25" TV monitor with seprate DIN connected
Tuner. Problem Dead or more specifically shuts down instantly. Will run at
85-90v on variac. Suspect IC651 Which is a DP6. HAve a photocopy of the
schematic portion. Now this module when pulled show the epoxy has been
heated and has cracked after a little pulling and tugging at the cracks
resintalled and the SEt ran the rest of the day. Any one know if this is
probabble or if this part is still avalible Subs have several earlier
versions ie -1, -2 , -4
