When Mitsubishi has had parts NLA they have offered very reasonable
accomodations to our customers.  They are buying back a 4 year old RPTV from
a cust right now for $1100.  You have to work with them a bit but they
typically go out of their way to accomdate customers.  I have found other
companies to be less accomodating but it varies.

As for the original question, Sony has had some CRT problems with a limited
number of production of some sets but this is not one of them.  They have
also extended warranties to cover that problem.

Otherwise we have seen very few problems with this series of sets.
