Hi Larry, 5 volt source with 224 ohms is only 22.3mA or 110mW of current consumption - I don't know how much current this board should be drawing but that appears to be normal. This seems veeery low for a 5v line, can anybody confirm this is normal? I hate to order and install a $156.00 (retail) B board only to find the A board is bad , retail on that one is $631.69 Thanks for any info you can give, Larry E Larry Eastman American TV & Electronics Crystal River, Fl. 34428 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Larry E" <videotech@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, February 25, 2005 4:06 PM Subject: [TechAssist] Sony KP51HW40 RA6 chassis dead > Hi Guys, this KP51HW40 clicks once, pauses 2 seconds and clicks again then led on front > flashes 6 times, according to the print this is a dead short on +5v line, I have 4.98 volts on > output pin of IC5006 the standby 5 volt IC??? solder on G board is all good, HOT is not shorted, no burned or stressed looking parts anywhere. If I remove all connectors from the G board except > CN5001 (relay) all of the voltages including the 135 B+ come up to full and then immediately start to decay towards zero. Jumping the second relay does not start the set, the second relay RY6003 > has no DC across the coil, the primary relay RY6002 has approx. 25 volts across it which > according to the print is supposed to be 9 volts? The schematic is very confusing because the relays are on 2 different pages and they don`t show the connection between them, has anyone seen this > chassis before with this problem? I don`t see a lot of Sonys here but I`m lost even with the print, > could this be a software error? I don`t understand the 6 blink code saying "short on 5 volt line" > Any ideas? tia Larry E > Larry Eastman > American TV & Electronics > Crystal River, Fl. 34428 > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- --- > Lost Password: > http://www.tech-assist.org and select "Login Problems?". > Email Archives: > //www.freelists.org/archives/techassist/ > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---- - This Email List is Public.
