It is pretty common for the audio output IC (TDA7231A) to have leakage 
to the mute line and will cause no sound even in a stereo TV, muting 
both audio outs. If that's not it, check the resistors around IC101 
(LA7673) and T131 off pin 4, otherwise change IC101.  John.
