John: I have to ask. How long did it take to remove install a 80 pin surface
mount. Man that must have been time consuming. Did it remove and install and
not pull up any runs? Also do you have a special machine to remove and
install. All I have is my 60 watt Weller. I don't think I could handle that
80 pin. I do the small ones. Looks like I am going to have to get a station
to remove and install them soon with the different heads. Pace wants 2K for
one. Many micros and now even jungles are that big now. Good topic to see
how most of you handle these? Comments?

I just had a DS25204-01 (similar or same?) that had no vertical deflection.
It turned out to be IC101 LA76843N, a 80 pin surface mount. Apparently this
is a common problem, we had to wait about 2 - 3 months for the chip. I don't
think it was expensive. Sorry, I do not have a schematic for either model.
The vertical out on IC101 is on pin 26. The DS25204 is very similar to
DS25320 in Sams 4801 except the DS25204 gets it's vetical B+ from the smps
off D626 cathode and not from the fly. Let us know what you find, John.
