Maybe this will help, then again, maybe it won't:
After replacing the switched mode regulator IC501, STR-G6623, found only
about 3.5 volts on pin 4 where there should be 15.8 volts. This was caused
by reverse bias leakage of about 2.5K in diode D506. Replaced D506, AU02A or
NTE552 for the final fix.

Ken,
      I remember a 9"Sansui that came in dead..There was a T0220
regulator..the 3 traces went to the regulator then straight thru, when they
drilled the board the holes were the width of the traces. We hard wired..
sorry that's all I remember, and don't know if this applies..
