This sounds like you have two bands of interference, which sync with the 
60Hz vertical,and  would tell me it's 120Hz,which is the full wave 
rectified PS  DC lacking filtering. I bet you have a small lytic in the 
PS weak, allowing 120Hz hash into the jungle circuits disrupting 
horizontal. The Zenith modules had this.
Will check my records and see.
