actually projection tv is about 80 % of our work now. and
convergence related is probably 80% of the problems.
smaller tvs have become throw aways here since wal-mart is
near giving them away.
Maybe im just in a rut and i will see different problems soon.
as for parts availability, i wont mention names, there are
more than one, but i am speaking of PCB that the manufacturer
says is not repairable, the only recourse is PTS,
they say if you send them the board they will repair it.
so now I go to home , diagnose, return to shop, call factory
tech, get their recommendation, discover no PCB available,
though many manufacturers require board replace rather than
repair. call pts, return to home remove board, sent to pts,
wait, return to home again, hope the diagnoses was correct.
now I have 3 trips to and from home, at extended distance.
if it didnt fix it, is it the replacement board defective or
something else.
I have seen both.
