This appears to be happening slowly, if it is really happening at all. So it would gradually go to zero and then build up in the opposite direction. This appears to have happened many times in the past, as evidenced by the magnetic polarization of rocks and minerals that were solidifying during these events. The Earths magnetic field deflects most of the continuous stream of charged particles from the Sun. As the field weakens, more of these particles will reach closer to the Earth, frying practically all of those sattelites except for the radiation-hardened military ones. The charged particles that reach the surface will do a lot of damage to the flora and fauna. Voltages induced in power transmission lines will trip out the breakers, as has happened in the past from sunspot activity when abnormally large numbers of charged particles penetrated the existing magnetic shield. Scienctists who study that sort of thing claim its several thousand years overdue but they feel with recent changes in magnetic field it may be in the process now. Reply=3DA0to: techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx I haven't used a pencil degausser since the last 8 track came in. How long does it take to cover the whole screen on a 36" TV? I tried to paint my father's house with a crayon once.
