Kevin,
You probably have a cracked impeller on the load gear.
I usually remove the whole thing from the load motor shaft and super glue it to
the shaft and works like a charm.
If this is the problem, you should hear the motor humming when you try to eject
the tape.

I have a SONY SLV380 Vcr that when first plugged in will accept tape and play no
problem.
If you EJECT tape once it will no longer accept tape, the VCR will not shut off
unless you unplug it. If you wait about a half hour until unit is cold and plug
in it goes through the same routine.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
