Hello,
Can anyone help me provide solution, suggestions and TIPS as to how to repair
this fault on a SHARP TV Model 14A2-S. The SET was brought in with BURNT Power
Supply. I checked and fixed the SMPS (STRF 6653) including other components.
Currently the power comes on when SWITCHED, but goes into STANDY MODE with the
POWER LED indicating RED instead of GREEN. During this time the SET displays a
NOTHING on the SCREEN.
If I use the remote control to power, the LED changes from RED to GREEN, but
stays on for a MAXIMUM of 10 seconds only, then back to RED, and then the
remote cannot be used to power the SET again.
After studying the DATASHEET of the VERTICAL DEFLECTOR IC, i.e. TDA 8357, it
looks like the device has been triggered into protection mode, indicating a
fualt on the main board. I took out the VERTICAL IC, and then powered the SET,
this time it came ON indicating RED then suddendly to green, with the SCREEN
displaying a white HORIZONTAL LINE.
I want to suggest the VERTICAL device to be faulty, but can anyone HELP as to
next what I should do.
