Sounds like the Sanyo Yoke problem.
Ring the horizontal windings.
Pull the yoke off,check for 'burned' windings on the inner portion.
Sometimes you can spread the windings slightly(til it Rings good)
then 'stuff' some RTV in there to seperate/insulate the Bare windings.
