Oh contraire, Jeff...
I had one last week with the transistor that failed...took out the AC fuse..
I replaced the transistor a bad diode and set was still dead..had to replace
the board.

Generally the Conv PS boards with the stk's are the ones to fail. Order the
original part number and the new will have the older (transistors) version
of the board. I don't think I've ever seen the transistor version fail.
We just replace them also----for the price AND that we have found a higher
than neccesary return rate on the repaired ones.
