[TechAssist] RadioShack answering machine-TAD425,low audio

Realistic,radioshack,Mod#TAD425,R/S#43-711;Very low audio on both tapes,ie
in&out.This unit belongs to my local Chiropractor,who keeps my back in good
shape.She does not want to part with it & hates the newer models.The sound is
very low on both the out-going & in-coming tapes.Tryed cleaning & demaging the
heads.Anyone have any info on this unit,like which IC is the audio or does it
use transistors.Most of the IC #'s I checked on the unit are op amps.No info on
the Realistic website for this guy.Which IC or Transistors are used to drive
the speaker?The B+,9vdc is ok.Like to get this going & keep my Doctor a happy
camper..TIA..Don...
