2. Hard starting, appears to go into shutdown the first few attempts.

May be the 2.2uf or the 39uf/47uf caps in SMPS....also check the 15uf in
Smps as that is the overcurrent shutdown.
Also CR4118 2nd-ary diode is the 15V supply, known for shutting down the TV,
but very intermittantly and usually during "full run mode, or watching TV".
Common failures you probably already knew......
Check your 143V supply in standby and run modes, preferably with a scope and
see if the voltage is too excessive.
I think the SMPS shuts down in run at about 150 - 157 V and I've seen the
Standby at 170 or more and it still starts.....(but that's the 2.2uf causing
that, OR the Main 143V CAP dried out....C4120?  180uf/200V or
200uf/180V....seen 1 or 2 of  these failed)
