Barry, This is from a post a week or two ago. Sorry, I don't know who sent it. I word processed the message to store on my hard drive, because I have had some problems losing my stored e-mail. -------------------- CTC203 Audio Problem Bypass Got a CTC203AX Chassis in our shop today with this very common "audio goes out or goes to static" (intermittent) problem. ...So I Installed the suggested, 1uf @ 50v cap, across U13101. I Put the positive lead to pin-15 and negative lead to ground, pin-30 on the System Control U13101 IC. According to my SAMS #4693, Pin-15 is the Closed-Caption Video input of the System Control IC and this cap will defeat (swamping out the XDS data info) the Closed- Caption feature. Also I've read on the list here that it may defeat use of the GemStar Guide while fixing a number of possible oddball audio problems. BTW, The Gem-Star Guide OSD Came up on the tv after the repair but I do not know if the updates may or may not take. I guess we tech's will all know if this is a "Solid-fix" as time goes along. ------------------------------- Kenneth Smith Gulf Technical Services 3034 Gulf Breeze Parkway Gulf Breeze, FL 32563 850-934-8324 (Voice) 850-932-0819 (Fax) On Wed, 1 Feb 2006 08:53:54 -0500 "Barry" <foxhole@xxxxxxxxx> writes: > I'm sorry guys but I lost the fix for the recent no sound could some > post it again? > Thank You, > Barry MacInnes > Television Service Clinic > 2 Church St. W. > W.
