[TechAssist] RCA combo T13070WH low sound

Yesterday, when I turned this set on(in tv mode)
the sound was OK.
Later I tried it in VCR mode and the sound was too
low, and would not turn up.
The volume indicator moves.
I then tried it back in TV mode and the sound was
too low there also.
Letting it cool over night(expecting normal sound,
at least briefly) I tried it this morning.
The sound is too low and will not turn up right
from the get go.
Anyone been down This road??
