RCA VCR vR678HF (on SM with 676HF)
Problem -No power.
Found Main filter cap 100m 200v blown open - Replaced. Seem to recall one
other small cap that ESR'd bad and changed.
When first plugged in- would come up "BYE" in display and shut off. Could
turn on and get startup menu. Could insert tape and it would play .Could
also use tuner.
If I hit Eject, unit unloads and may or may not eject tape but- power
shuts off and display goes blank. Try to power on and it flashes on and
off - coming up and shutting down.
So I replaced regulator IC (u4614B). Did not make any difference.
May have taken power surge.
All Ideas welcome
