I have the same VCR and I have the same problem. As soon as I have some
spare time, I'm going to change the caps in the p/s. If you find
anything in the meantime please let me know.

Have an intermittent problem with this unit. (My own unit). Periodically
this unit will go crazy. You insert a tape...Push Play..will play a
couple of seconds, then display says.."Bye" and shuts off. When you
re-apply power tape ejects. Seems to be OK on FF and Rew. I have
disassembled the mode switch, cleaned and lubed it. Worked OK for a
couple of sessions, then goes back to the same problem. This unit has
the Commercial Skip on it. Today I brought the unit into the shop, and
has been running for 3 hours, no problem. Any ideas?
