[TechAssist] RCA TV CTC178 proj. - question about B+ 135V

I have this CTC178 projection which originally some mouses pee'd on the
chassis causing it to not start up. After many lengthy repair sessions,
I now believe I have it running properly (will post the fixes shortly).

I do have a question though. The mouses pee'd around the SMPS area of
the board (among other ares) so I had to replace R4912 which is a
factory sealed trim pot (warning in service manual to use only the
official kit). I just used a trim pot I had and maybe a few related
parts (been a long while and I can't remember exactly). The B+ was
running at 127V with the pot set at center. The service manual says it
is a 135V B+ supply. I have now adjusted the B+ to 135V. Checked the
Xray shut-down tests which function OK).

Is that good enough or is there another reason why RCA wants us to only
use the factory supplied kit?

Thanks for any help.
