I fixed one with the same problem, and it was the run control under the black plastic cover, (they said do not adjust), but you have to remove it, mark the position, and clean it with wd40. hope this help. pete ... It tries to start but just shuts down. Standby voltages seen normal until I hit the power button. As I measure standby voltages when I turn the set on, they drop about half. =A0 Neil ** Original Subject: [TechAssist] Re: RCA ProJo PTK169PABS ** Original Sender: Dennis Viereck <wa6ati@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> ** Original Date: Wed, 21 Nov 2001 00:37:05 -0500 (EST) ** Original Message follows... Neil: Is the voltage you are measuring in the Standby mode or in the Run mode? If so, What are the voltages at CR4106(K) & CR4101(K) with respect to hot ground in the Standby mode? Are any of the supply voltages pulsing at a 0.5 to 1 second rate at U4101(15 & 16) Dennis Viereck tvdoctors@xxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: Didn't help! =A0 130 goes to around 70. =A0 12.6 goes to around 6.5 =A0 _15 and positive 15 don't seem to go as low. =A0 Anything else to try. I do get a spark like from a spark plug wire from the anode for about a second when power button is hit. =A0 Neil ** Original Subject: [TechAssist] Re: RCA ProJo PTK169PABS ** Original Sender: "Ron Miller" <rlmbkm@xxxxxxxx> ** Original Date: Tue, 20 Nov 2001 18:32:32 -0500 (EST) ** Original Message follows... I replaced these with the high voltage splitter and checked other surrounding components. Set still won't activate. My B+ is 130 volts and all other secondary voltages are right on the track. I have a good pulse to the base of the horiz.. Output transistor. When I push the power button, I notice that the 130 volts gets loaded down to around 70 volts. If I disconnect the anode lead from the splitter and clip a lead from about a tenth of an inch from the lead to ground, it makes a spark once then shuts down, so I know my high voltage is trying to come up, but shuts down. I've checked the caps in the horiz.output collector circuit and they check good. The only thing I can find out of place is my 130 volt line is dropping down. Has anyone had a problem like this in the past? Could it be the flyback? =A0 Thanks for input on this. My customer would like to have this set back before Thanksgiving. =A0 Neil TV Doctors =A0 108 W.
